Reebok has always believed in the power of fitness, but today that power is even greater as the fitness world is changing is a profound way. Fitness is moving from a largely solitary activity to a group activity. And it’s far bigger than the actual activity – it’s a lifestyle. The way people perceive fitness, how they define themselves by their fitness lifestyle and how they experience fitness is far different today than in the past. For many, fitness is not what they do, it's who they are.
Today, people who live this fit lifestyle are bonding over collective experiences and that is what motivates them, drives them and fulfils them. In the end, it makes for a stronger community, or in Reebok’s case, a stronger, more connected company.
In 2010, Reebok embarked on a path forward. Reebok would set a course to become the undisputed fitness brand. For Reebok, this shift was really about reclaiming a position the brand had held in the past. Reebok was looking to its heritage to define its future.
But before announcing this message to the world, Reebok first decided to look internally and begin with its own employees. To be successful, Reebok understood that it first needed to make believers out of those who would ultimately be spreading this powerful message.
It all began in 2010, when Reebok launched the employee value proposition that was intended to bring people together to embrace and celebrate a new dedication to fitness and to ensure that Reebok was a brand that was truly living its strategy. In the years following, a remarkable cultural transformation of Reebok’s Canton location and other Reebok offices has taken place.
Rich Froning was the first and only person to win the title of "Fittest Man on Earth" four times in a row and in the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games led his affiliate team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom to a first place finish. They put a lot of thought into their own experiences when it comes to fit and comfort when training, so every item is designed to support their passion- pushing the limits of fitness.
QALO (pronounced KAY-LO) ring started out of pure frustration.
After getting married we realized what a nuisance wearing our traditional wedding band was. While we love our wives, and love being married, the reality was that our ring was getting in the way (literally) of our active lifestyle. The married men we talked with shared the same frustrations. Every time we hit the gym, worked on the car, surfed, rock-climbed, you name it (insert sport of choice here________) our wedding band got in the way.
These are the stories we heard over and over: “I lost my ring.” “I put it in my locker and it was stolen.” “I dove in, and didn’t even realize it was gone.” “I gashed it on a rock, and the rock won.” “Man, I don’t even play ball with my ring on!” After all of these stories we searched for a solution that would allow us to show our commitment of marriage, and wear a comfortable wedding band that could withstand our active lifestyle. We started playing around with some rubber wedding rings, and then discovered 100% medical grade silicone wedding rings and thus: QALO was born.
Stance’s founders saw a category that had been ignored, taken for granted, and dismissed. Rogue Fitness was started in a garage and amongst a group of people that could see an industry in need of change. We have strayed off the beaten path of the traditional equipment sales market. We don’t have a salesman in every region pushing our products, we rely upon word of mouth.
We built the first store bringing in all the niche manufacturers into one place for one stop shopping. Our partnership with Ahmik Jones was vital to the evolution that has occurred. We are fully integrated into various equipment lines and we warehouse all of the associated items in our equipment packages. Many may say they do it but we post pictures of it every week.
We make much of our equipment in the US which employs hundreds of US workers. We are part of the revolution. We listen to our customers ideas and many times bring new products to market based on their ideas, suggestions and yes complaints!
